If you are traveling to Lansing to get your passport photo taken, please call to make sure there is someone available to take your photo. There may be a rare circumstance where there isn't a photographer available part of a day, or all day, due to illness or other absence.
- No appointment is necessary except for babies/children that can't sit up on their own. To get an appointment, please email with a couple times you’re available and we will get back to you asap to schedule your passport photo.
- We take your photos for US passports, Foreign Passports, with various size requirements, Lotteries, Visas, Social Media profiles, etc. We take your photo against the standard white background. If you need a different background, please email and we can see if we can accommodate you.

In Ames, you can apply for your passport at the Ames post office on Kellogg Ave in downtown Ames. If you only need to renew your passport, you may be eligible to renew online and mail in your renewal request. For both new passports and renewal passports, you must submit two photographs with your application. In most cases, The Print Refinery can take your passport photo during store hours without an appointment and have it ready for you in about 10-15 minutes!
